Although most people recognize the name Temple Bar as the famous pub, the name actually encompasses the busy neighbourhood south of the River Liffey in the D2 District. This area was named after Sir William Temple, who built a house and garden in the area in the early 1600s.
This area is full of quirky shops, restaurants with local and worldly cuisines, live music, galleries, and pubs around each corner. There is plenty to do during the day and at night.
The pub itself was established in 1840, though the area is well known to have been established by Vikings back in 795 A.D. Known to have one of the largest whiskey collections in the world, you can listen to traditional Irish music on several floors, and meet people from all over the world.
Let this print remind you of the fun memories spent on the cobbled streets in the heart of Dublin!
Original painted using watercolour and India ink on cold-pressed watercolour paper.
